§ Mr. Robin SquireThe costs of overseeing the bodies sponsored by the Department cannot easily be disaggregated from the costs of related activities. However, estimated total aggregate costs of a recurring nature for the 1996–97 financial year in respect of the Department's oversight of the Employment Service, the Teachers' Pensions Agency and the 25 non-departmental public bodies and similar bodies sponsored by the Department are £1.4 million.
