HC Deb 10 July 1996 vol 281 cc244-5W
Mr. Dover

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what assessment he has made of the impact on the quotas for the importation of New Zealand lamb of the worldwide ban on the export of British beef imposed by the European Commission. [31065]

Mrs. Browning

[holding answer 4 June 1996]: We do not consider the EU ban on exports of British beef to have any significant effect on the New Zealand lamb quota. Furthermore, at a recent meeting of the World Trade Organisation International Meat Council, the New Zealand delegate took a similar view.
