HC Deb 08 July 1996 vol 281 c54W
Mr. Dalyell

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to his letter of 6 June, what public funds have been committed to training through the investors in people initiative; and if he will provide a breakdown of the money allocated to the 311 companies to which he referred in paragraph 5. [34639]

Mr. Raymond S. Robertson

In the past five years, more than £5 million has been spent on investors in people in Scotland. This money is not allocated directly to individual organisations but is used by Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise to fund advisers based in local enterprise companies, to fund the assessment body, Investors in People Scotland, and for promotional work. It is not possible to assess the value of support given to each of the 1,762 organisations formally committed to IIP or the 329 organisations which have achieved the standard.
