Mr. Squire[holding answer 8 November 1995]: The information for all 15-year-old pupils in (a) England,(b) the local education authority maintained, (c) grant-maintained and (d) independent sectors, on the same coverage as in the annual school performance tables, and also by gender (i) their GCSE average point score per pupil where A* = 7 and where A* = 8 and (ii) the percentage achieving (1) at least five GCSEs at grades A* = C, (2) at least one GCSE at grade C or higher, (3) at least five GCSEs at grade G or higher and (4) at least one GCSE at grade G or higher is shown in the following table:
