§ The Prime MinisterThe abolition of the dock labour scheme has enabled United Kingdom ports to take full advantage of the commercial opportunities available to them. The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company has grasped these opportunities to make the port of Liverpool one of the most successful ports in the country. Supporting this unofficial action would serve only to threaten the growing success of the port of Liverpool.
