To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the daily average number of prison staff at Doncaster prison absent on sick leave, as a total number and as a percentage of the total prison's work force. [8425]

Letter from Richard Tilt to Mr. Martin Redmond, dated 17 January 1996: The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about the daily average number of prison staff at Doncaster prison absent on sick leave, as a total number and as a percentage of the total prison's work force. The average daily sickness is 10.23 staff, which represents 3.28 per cent of the daily work force.
