§ Mr. AncramThe following grant aid has been committed by the Industrial Development Board under selective financial assistance to client companies in each of the four Belfast constituencies in the last 10 years.
- Belfast North: £2,969,000
- Belfast South: £41,905,000
- Belfast East: £9,348,000
- Belfast West: £67,937,000.
The figures exclude assistance under the privatisation agreements with Harland and Wolff and Shorts in 1989 which amounted to £205 million and £115 million respectively.
Information on schemes operated by IDB trade and export division is not recorded in a way in which it could be broken down into constituencies. The information is not therefore available.
The Local Enterprise Development Unit has committed the following grant aid in the period from 1 April 1988. Information prior to this date would be available only at disproportionate cost.
- Belfast North: £9,925,000
- Belfast South: £10,783,000
- Belfast East: £7,648,000
- Belfast West: £14,137,000.
