As announced today in the Government response to the report of the Select Committee on Science and Technology, an advisory committee on genetic testing will be established to consider and advise on the ethical, social and scientific aspects of genetic testing. I am pleased to announce that the Rev. Dr. John Polkinghorne FRS, president, Queen's college, Cambridge has agreed to chair the committee.
