HL Deb 15 February 1996 vol 569 c57WA
Lord McNair

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many suspected adverse reactions have been reported in (a) animals and (b) humans since warble fly dressings were made compulsory.

Lord Lucas

Compulsory treatment for cattle infested with warble fly was introduced in 1978. Information on suspected adverse reactions to warble fly treatments is only available from 1st January 1985. In the period since then to 9th February 1996, a total of 34 adverse reaction reports involving animals, and 30 involving humans, have been received by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate.
