To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how much his Department has spent on the administration, promotion, support and establishment of school boards in Scotland in each academic year since their establishment. [12504]

School boards were established for the first time during the financial year 1989–90. Departmental expenditure, by financial year, is as follows.
