§ Mr. HanleyMy right hon. and learned Friend the Foreign Secretary raised a range of human rights issues with the Chinese during his visit to Peking in January. In particular, he expressed our concerns about reports of abuses in Tibet. The whereabouts of Gedhun Chokyi Nyima and his tutor was raised during the recent EU-China human rights dialogue which took place in Peking from 21 to 24 January. The Dalai Lama has also expressed his concerns.
