§ Mr. SoamesMembers of the armed forces were brought within the scope of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 on 1 February 1995, the effective date of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 (Application to Armed Forces etc.) Regulations 1994 (SI 1994/3276). Sections 4 and 6 of the SDA have the effect of implementing article 7 of the equal treatment directive. Copies of all these documents are already held in the Library of the House.
