To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list(a) the number of contracts between Department of the Environment Services and suppliers of spring or mineral water, (b) the quantities of water involved in the last year for which figures are available and (c) the cost of supplying such water to Department of the Environment offices. The Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland currently has 15 contracts with suppliers for the provision of spring and mineral water to its offices and a number of other premises within the Northern Ireland civil service general office estate. In 1995–96, the last full year for which figures are available, 11,715 litres of water were supplied at a cost to the Department of £5,928.97.
