To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has selected the chairman and membership of the Advisory Committee on the Rating of Plant and Machinery in Prescribed Industries; and if he will make a statement.[7798]

My Department received 37 applications for positions on the Advisory Committee on the Rating of Plant and Machinery in Prescribed Industries. Derek Wood, CBE QC, was selected to serve as chairman of the committee. The following were selected as members:
