To ask the President of the Board of Trade when he next expects to meet the president of the Confederation of British Industry to discuss manufacturing industry. [5817]

My right hon. Friend the president of the Board of Trade and other DTI Ministers regularly meet the Confederation of British Industry to discuss a range of issues. In 1997 the CBI expects manufacturing output to grow by 4 per cent. and manufacturing investment to grow by 7½ per cent.
