§ Mr. Sproat[holding answer 28 November 1996]The seven IT projects proposed for 1996–97 are aimed at constraining future costs rather than reducing current expenditure. One project is budgeted at less than £500,000, the others are less than £50,000 in value. The annual savings against projected future maintenance and staff costs are 5–10 per cent.
