[holding answer 2 April 1996]The following table lists in rank order for each local education authority the number and percentage of pupils obtaining five GCSEs at grade C or above in 1994–95 together with(a) the number and percentage of pupils obtaining three or more GCE A-level or AS equivalent passes in 1994–95, (b) the average primary school class size, (c) the average secondary school class size, (d) expenditure per primary pupil and (e) expenditure per secondary pupil. In each case, the local education authority's rank order is indicated.
