To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give the reasons for the withdrawal of local termination of pregnancy facilities within the NHS in north Wales. [23561]

[holding answer 2 April 1996]: The responsibility for the commissioning of abortion services in north Wales rests with the North Wales health authority. It is for individual health authorities to assess the health care needs of their local population and to decide priorities within their overall resources.
