HC Deb 27 October 1995 vol 264 c841W
Mr. Jim Cunningham

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what is his policy on the provision of after-care services for women leaving refuges; which services are being provided with national coverage; and what funding has been made for after-care services for women leaving refuges in each of the last five years and the current financial year; [38464]

(2) how many women are taken care of by women's refuges; and what estimates he has made of the extent of unmet need. [38470]

Mr. Maclean

I understand from my right hon. Friends at the Departments of Health and of the Environment that the information requested is not currently available. Consideration is, however, being given by the official and ministerial groups on domestic violence to improving the collection of data on the range of services and facilities available to those suffering from the consequences of domestic violence.
