To ask the Secretary of State for Health, if he will make a statement on the numbers of proprietors of unregistered children's homes, based on social services' inspectorate study published in August who had convictions relating to(a) fraud, (b) sexual abuse and (c) physical abuse. [38188]

[holding answer 24 October 1995]: We received reports of two proprietors having convictions for fraud and one having convictions relating to sexual abuse. The homes are now closed.
