HL Deb 30 November 1995 vol 567 cc49-50WA
Lord Vivian

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they intend to re-establish junior soldiers' regiments.

Earl Howe:

There is no plan to revive Junior Leaders' Regiments in the form in which they previously existed but urgent work is in hand to consider introducing a junior entry to the Army to attract young people with the potential to become Senior Non-Commissioned and Warrant Officers. It is too early to be more definitive about the form such a scheme might take.
