To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans he has to remove the requirement of a separate prescription charge for each drug contained in HRT preparations; and if he will make a statement. [2862]

The regulations require a charge to be paid for each quantity of a drug supplied. This includes each quantity of medicine in duopacks such as HRT which are packed in this way for the convenience of the patient and for the manufacturer.
