§ Mr. SutcliffeTo ask the President of the Board of Trade when he will have finished consideration of points of law in the case of Mr. Michael Johnson; and when he hopes to conclude the case. [2260]
Mr. Johnathan Evans[holding answer 24 November 1995:]: Consideration of points of law is a matter for the judiciary. I understand that Mr. Johnson won his industrial tribunal case for unfair dismissal and was awarded compensation in lieu of reinstatement. He subsequently applied to the tribunal chairman for a review of two aspects of the decision, but this request was refused. I am advised that Mr. Johnson was informed of this decision on 24 May 1995.
