HC Deb 27 November 1995 vol 267 c419W
Mr. Steen

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what legislation from his Department passed in the last five years contains provision for statutory repeal or review. [2039]

Sir Paul Beresford

Within the last five years, this Department has been responsible for two Acts of Parliament which contain provision for statutory repeal or review.

Section 128 of the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 allows the Secretary of State to provide by order that sections 126 and 127— housing welfare services—should cease to have effect.

Schedule 24 of the Environment Act 1995 provides for the repeal of earlier provisions in the Act which deal with transitional provisions in respect of national parks.

This Department has a programme to review on a regular basis all its legislation which affects business.
