To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment (1) how many students applied for student loans in (a) 1991, (b) 1992, (c) 1993 and (d) 1994; and if she will make a statement; [1215]

(2) how many students who graduated in (a) 1989, (b) 1990, (c) 1991, (d) 1992, (e) 1993 and (f) 1994 are still in debt to the Student Loans Company; and if she will make a statement. [1214]
