To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what proportion pf new lettings by housing associations in the last two years have been made to people in receipt of housing benefit. [40336]

The latest available information relates to lettings in England to households who are eligible for either full or partial housing benefit.

The figures for 1993–94 and 1994–95 are set out in the table:
