§ Mr. Heathcoat-Amory[holding answer 6 November 1995]: Officials of HM Customs and Excise regularly attend meetings with the European Commission in Brussels to discuss a wide range of VAT-related issues. In doing so they meet a number of Commission officials at all levels in the Directorate General for Customs and Indirect Taxation.
