Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if she will list all the non-departmental public bodies to which her Department makes appointments in the county of South Yorkshire, indicating the total annual budget and the number of appointments made or renewed for each body in each of the last four years. Mr. Robin Squire

The Secretary of State for Education and Employment makes appointments to:

  1. (a) The Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities (Sheffield and Rotherham)
  2. (b) The Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities (Wakefield, Barnsley and Doncaster) CEPDs do not hold budgets. Their functions are financed by the Employment Service out of regionally held budgets. The press committees were constituted in April 1994 and will run for three years. Each committee consists of a chairman and up to 13 members.
  3. (c) The Further Education Funding Council regional committee (Yorkshire and Humberside) The FEFC regional committee has no separate budgets. Its functions are financed from the FEFC's central budget. The committee consists of 11 members and a chairman. The current chairman was appointed in April 1993 and the 11 members in October 1993.
