Mr. Hain

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his answer of Thursday 22 June, Official Report, column 471, if he will give a progress report on the investigation into the bombing of the London office of the ANC in 1982; and he will place a copy of the report, when complete, in the Library. Mr. Howard

I understand that, as part of this continuing investigation, officers from the Metropolitan police service hope to travel to South Africa this month to interview several people, after which they would submit a further report to the Crown Prosecution Service. Such reports cannot be made public for legal reasons, but the police will write to the hon. Member on conclusion of the investigation.
