§ Mr. HanleyAn unauthorised demonstration was held on 29 July in Kinshasa by the Unified Lumumbist party—PALU—close to the transitional Parliament buildings. Demonstrators clashed with the gendarmerie and, most regrettably, 10 people died: one gendarme and nine demonstrators.
