§ Mrs. EwingTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list all Forestry Commission woods currently for sale in England; and if he will make a statement on the targets for the disposal of land by(a) area and (b) projected income. [40675]
§ Mr. Boswell[holding answer 2 November 1995]: I refer the hon. Member to the reply which my hon. Friend, the Under-Secretary for Scotland gave the hon. Member for Sherwood (Mr. Tipping) on 25 October, Official Report, columns 685–87. As set out in the Government's expenditure plans 1995–96 to 1997–98, the Forestry Commission plans to sell about 15,000 hectares of forest land in each of the next three years, and expects to receive a total of about £60 million from the sale of forest land and surplus properties during that period. The Commission expects about 15 per cent. of these sales to be in England.
