§ Mr. Alex Carlile
To ask the Secretary of State for Health what treatment is available through the national health service for patients with Anderson Fabry disease; at which NHS trusts treatment can be obtained; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Sackville
Anderson Fabry disease is a rare inherited disorder of metabolism for which there is no known cure. Treatment of the various symptoms of the disease is a matter of clinical judgment and varies according to the individual case. The availability of services for such treatment is a matter for local determination.
