§ Mr. NeedhamMy Department's single market compliance unit has arranged for 14 cases to be raised at the internal market advisory committee since specific single market complaints were first placed on its agenda last year. These have covered:
- restrictions on the provision of auctioneering services in France;
- Italian taxation of cars over 2 litres;
- Dutch waste water regulations;
- requirements for tyre inflators to be tested to German standards;
- requirements for stack gas analisyers to be tested to German standards;
- Greek regulations on the content of soft drinks;
- discriminatory provisions concerning the operation of security firms in Portugal;
- Dutch requirements involving the double-testing of electric fencing;
- restrictions on the operation of UK qualified accountants in Greece;
- Greek restrictions on the operation of a speedboat for business purposes;
- restrictions on the establishment of private language schools in Greece;

- German refusal to accredit non-German bodies to issue the GS mark;
- German requirements for re-testing of samples for liquid density standards.
