§ Mr. WattsThe Government will continue to provide funding, through the franchising director, to support local rail services. With regard to revenue support for railway passenger services funded by English passenger transport executives, my right hon. Friend intends to replace the current temporary arrangements with an enhancement of the standard spending assessment "bolt on" grant, with effect from 1996–97.
