§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe number of prisoners serving sentences for offences under misuse of drugs legislation in 1994 was around 10 per cent. of the prison population; but no reliable estimate is yet available of the number of prisoners serving sentences for offences committed under the influence of drugs or to pay for drugs.
