§ Mr. MaloneThe Department seeks the advice of the postgraduate deans and the medical profession's joint consultants committee on the number and distribution of pre-registration house officer posts. The aim is that there should be sufficient posts to ensure that all new graduates are able to obtain a PRHO post. There is a small—currently 12.5 per cent.—excess of posts to ensure that they have some choice.
