To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans his Department has to increase resources to local government in Dorset to help it to cope with the economic effects of defence job losses. [23213]

Standard spending assessments use the most up-to-date information available to take account of changes in economic conditions.

In addition, South Dorset is getting £2.7 million over five years from the single regeneration budget in connection with the closure of the Portland naval base. It is also eligible for KONVER funding.
