To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was his Department's official response to the legal opinions obtained by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals on the live export of veal calves; and if he will make a statement. [22892]

My right hon. Friend informed the House in answer to a question from my hon. Friend the Member for Plymouth, Sutton (Mr. Streeter) on 22 FebruaryOfficial Report, columns 276–86, that consideration of the RSPCA's latest legal advice was under way; that process is still on-going.
