To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what new proposals he has with regard to executive remuneration in the privatised utilities. [22241]

Remuneration is a matter for the companies and their shareholders. The Greenbury committee is reviewing best practice for companies and we will consider the need for any Government measures, if appropriate, in the light of their conclusions.
