§ Mr. BaldryOn 18 April 1995, there were 999 British citizens serving sentences for drugs offences around the world. In addition, there were a further 321 other British nationals, and others to whom we extend consular protection, for example, British dependent territories citizens, unrepresented Commonwealth nationals or EU nationals. Following is a table giving the breakdown by national status and by whereabouts.
A division by gender could be provided only at a disproportionate cost.
