To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many(a) men and (b) women have been unemployed for (i) less than six months, (ii) more than six months, (iii) more than one year, (iv) more than 18 months and (v) more than two years: and if he will provide a breakdown by the age categories (a) 35 to 40, (b) 40 to 50, (c) 50 to 60 and (D) 60 to 65 years. Information on levels of claimant unemployment by age and duration of unemployment can be obtained from the NOMIS database in the Library for the following age bands: 35 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 and over.
