To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is Her Majesty's Government's policy on the standard of living of manual workers in manufacturing relative to the white collar workers in the private sector. [21588]

The Government's policy is to create the economic conditions that will permit improvements in living standards for all groups in society.
