§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonI attach considerable importance to the work of the community education service throughout Scotland, as an integral part of the statutory provision for education made by local authorities. Total expenditure on community education by local authorities in Scotland in 1992–93 was almost £79 million, including over £37 million by Strathclyde region.
