To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs who is the latest British nominee to the International Court of Justice. [31649]

Mr. Douglas Hogg

Professor Rosalyn Higgins has been formally nominated as a candidate for election to the International Court of Justice by the national groups at the Permanent Court of Arbitration of 15 countries, including the British. There are no other candidates. The Government fully support Professor Higgins. The vote will take place on 12 July.
