§ Mr. HowardNo private finance initiative contracts were approved in 1994–95. Planning took place on eight projects expected to be approved in 1995–96. These are projects estimated to have a capital value of approximately £150 million.
All capital schemes are now considered for private finance. Eight further schemes are currently receiving more detailed consideration. The value is likely to be of the order of £1 billion.
