To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress is being made on the boundaries to be adopted by the proposed environment agency. [31199]

Mr. Atkins

The Environment Agency Advisory Committee has now submitted recommendations to Ministers on the boundaries of the agency. Copies of the recommendations have been placed in the Libraries of both Houses. I will announce shortly the Government's decision on EAAC's recommendations.
