§ Mr. WattsBetween 19 December 1994 and 21 June 1995 we received some 492 letters and 4,655 pre-printed postcards in favour of proceeding with the Newbury bypass. Most of these came from the Newbury area. We have also received four petitions in favour of the bypass containing a total of 12,700 signatures. During the same period, we have received some 398 letters and 59 pre-printed postcards opposing the bypass. The majority of these came from outside the area.
