§ Mr. Nicholas BakerWe have received a number of representations from charitable organisations concerned about a possible loss of income following the introduction of the national lottery. It is too early to assess the effect of the lottery on charitable income. The Government are, however, committed to monitoring any such changes. The National Lottery Charities Board will in any case be a major source of new income for the voluntary sector.
