§ Mr. DorrellMy Department supports the development and the wider availability and appreciation of music in this country through the Arts Council of England and the regional arts boards. The council will spend more than £42 million on music in 1995–96, as well as the funding disbursed by regional arts boards at a more local level. My Department is also the major sponsor of National Music Day. In addition, the Department of Trade and Industry has undertaken a range of measures in support of the commercial music industry in this country.
