§ Mr. RedwoodI do not have access to any departmental papers relating to that period of the Labour Government between 1974 and 1979. Such papers are subject to the provisions of the Public Record Acts 1958 and 1967. Consequently, those files selected for permanent preservation will normally be available for inspection at the Public Records Office, Kew, from January 2004.
For the period since 1979 I am advised that no studies or other substantive work has been undertaken.
